Still zooming along............

Not sign of getting back to play on the horizon at present, but the leagues are prepping for the new season regardless.
Details in the previous post, but there is a fall back option of an October start or, heaven forbid, a January start.....fingers crossed. But the opening game is set for 12th Sept at home v Birchfield
The 2nd XV's league [NOWIRUL] are meeting this week to sort their fixtures out.
But with 20 NOWIRUL teams joining the new ADM 2nd & 3rd team 'combi league' we may well see some reshuffling.

The AGM is looming and invites are being sent out to members in the next few days, for a virtual meeting. Should be interesting.
It could never been imagined by the lads in the photo's that Jenni has been posting on FB. Some excellent haircuts and moustaches from 1977-78!! Take a look.

Meanwhile the highlight of the week, Tom's Big Quiz, on Saturday evenings, continues apace.
Last week's controversial winner, young Oscar Duck [with no help from the assembled brain power of Mum, Dad & family, whatsoever] produced a mind bending set of metallic questions plus he somehow crow-barred a Game of Thrones teaser in there. [why?].
Tom's obsession with Guy Martin helped in his 'Helmet ' round which had everyone scratching their...head.
The music round was better than of late, especially for the over 35's, which may have reflected in the overall scores.

Great to see new entries from Team Ross from the Barrow outpost and Luke's dad tuning in from Chatburn.
Rather alarmingly Mr Hayton Snr seemed to slowly disappear, during the evening, into the shadows ; and there was some speculation as to whether he'd nipped to the fridge/chippy/loo/bed...... or was still there, eerily watching and waiting in the darkness. A frantic phone call from Hayton Jnr failed to shed any light on the mystery. And we may have to wait for this Saturday for the case to be resolved.
Send round some emergency pies Luke just in case!

So to the scores, as if they matter. The Walton boys plumbed new depths of ineptness but their enthusiasm for Google was a joy. New boy Ross was up there in the higher echelons of the scoreboard and looking good for a debut victory until the big reveal from the boudoir of Team Bleasdale & Entourage. A resounding win for the talented teacher and his cohorts. Look forward to your questions this week Matt.
Special mention to Kirky who appears to have bought up the entire Ribble Valley supply of Kraken rum. Keep on lambing KK .

Until next time...stay safe out there. x
