The two teams fought out tooth and nail for the prestige of lifting the trophy. The Presidents team took an early lead and by the interval looked to have wrapped it up. But Clitheroe came steaming back in the second half to level the scores 29 all just before the final whistle.
A fitting end to a fine match and the Nick Hopwood Trophy was shared.
