Supporting Mental Health @ CRUFC

WELCOME TO CLITHEROE RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB'S SIX CONNECTIONS PARTNERSHIP

At Clitheroe Rugby Union Football Club, we're deeply committed to enhancing the camaraderie that defines our post-match experiences. Whether it's the banter over a well-earned pint, the laughter echoing through the clubhouse, or the shared victories and challenges, we understand the unique bond forged on the rugby pitch. Beyond the game, we believe in fostering genuine and transparent discussions, especially during the highs and lows of our rugby journeys.

OUR COLLABORATION WITH SIX CONNECTIONS

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Six Connections, an organisation dedicated to mental health that resonates with the values inherent in rugby brotherhood. Together, our mission is to encourage open and honest conversations about mental health, seamlessly integrated into our post-match traditions. We firmly believe that these discussions should be woven into the fabric of our rugby community, becoming as natural as the post-match pint with your mates.

INITIATING CONVERSATIONS IN THE CLUBHOUSE

Life on and off the pitch presents us with challenges, and as a rugby family, we're committed to supporting one another through the triumphs and tribulations. Six Connections is all about initiating conversations in the clubhouse, ensuring that we talk about mental health before it becomes a crisis we can't escape.

KEEP IT SIMPLE

Sometimes, the simple question, "How are you?" can be overwhelming. That's why we advocate for keeping it simple. A delicious beer can serve as an excellent conversation starter, seamlessly integrating discussions about mental health into your regular interactions.

DON'T OVERTHINK

In the rugby world, a well-timed ruck is about commitment and simplicity. Similarly, showing genuine concern for a teammate's well-being can be a powerful act. Don't overthink it; a friendly inquiry or a shared moment can change the course of someone's day.

KNOW YOUR PLACE

Prioritise your well-being first. You can be a supportive presence for others only when you're in a good place yourself. You don't need to have all the solutions; sometimes, just listening and offering support for the next steps is enough. Let's all be #PoweredByMates.
