Egg Sugar Shot Challenge- well done to all who helped raise some money

Whilst I can vouch for the fact that it's not the most pleasant of challenges, the fund raising makes it all worthwhile

As a club, we've committed to helping raise charitable funds for two local charities this coming season, namely Lancashire Mind and the Foundation for Ribble Valley Families. Both charities support people with mental health problems and as we'll all agree, that's of massive importance to us all right now more than ever before.

Quite a number of players and supporters have taken up the challenge of downing a raw egg, eating a spoonful of sugar then knocking back a shot of something strong. Some wonderful faces have been pulled but most importantly, money has been pledged and paid over to the charities, estimated at more than £200 so far.

Well done to all involved and thank you to Emma at Lancashire Mind who sent us a lovely thank you letter as a consequence. It's great that we can think of others less fortunate than us and says a lot about our values at Clitheroe Rugby Club. Let's see what totals we can raise as we forge through the fascinating season we have in front of us.
