After there emphatic win last week Clitheroe 2's travelled to Tyldesley to take on the league leaders.
From the kick off Tyldesley showed why they were in top spot with some fast passing which allowed them to get over the line with less than 5 minutes on the board. Conversion made 7-0 to the home team.
Clitheroe who had a equal blend of youth and experience played to their strengths and bossed the scrum and line outs.
However the pace and organisation of Tyldesley kept getting the better of Clitheroe who heroically defended the majority of the match. This constant pressure eventually paid off for the home team and they scored another 4 first half tries and converted all of them.
Not to be deterred Clitheroe showed that they had something about them other than strength and with some great passing and movement Andrew Thornber found himself over the line. Not bad for a hooker. Stuart Railton missing the conversion.
The scores at half time. 35-5
The second half was almost a mirror of the first with Tyldesley showing their offloading skills. Regardless of how well Clitheroe defended they kept finding a way through.
Another 5 second half tries and 4 conversions almost saw the game off but in what was the final play of the game Clitheroe took it to Tyldesley and some fast play from a line out meant that Matt Bleasdale was able to weave his was past 3 defenders and score for Clitheroe. Taking a late cheap shot for his efforts. Stuart Railton missing the conversion.
Final score 68-10 to Tyldesley.
