On Sat 21st August we had a brilliant Open Day celebrate the rugby restart and to kick off the new season

The day started with an excellent buffet lunch thank you to our Sponsors and Life Members and was followed by some great action on the pitch, first with a number of our brilliant junior stars sporting their rugby skills then by our regular annual Presidents match where the President's XV came out on top against a Chairman's XV in a fiercely entertaining game.

Following the games, Tom Hardman was thanked for the superb work he and Richard Edmondson had done on the pitch in July and the President's match awards were presented by Lancashire President Gill Burns; Sam White was awarded the Bob Haworth Man of the Match award from his outstanding performance with a worthy mention too to Ben Lancaster for his great tries and President Andrew Thornber received the Nick Hopwood trophy as winning captain.

Finally, the club got to formally hand over the superb sum of money raised through the President's Challenge in walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks twice round in one go back in June. A sum of £10,656 was raised and Emma Bateson from Lancashire Mind attended to thank us in person for the club's efforts to raise such a fantastic amount of money.

The day was nicely finished off for many with a party into the night to celebrate the President's 50th birthday. A day to remember for sure!
