Ross Chamberlain gets the top job

Clitheroe Rugby Club has appointed Ross Chamberlain to the role of Head Coach with immediate effect.

Chair of the Playing Committee, Dave Watson, commented that "Ross has been an important player to us over the past 10 seasons and as the years have passed, he's worked hard on developing his coaching skills and achieving his qualifications, having previously worked with Lancashire youth teams and more recently in this last season, leading the Senior Colts to their most successful season ever. With some excellent ideas and an obvious drive to succeed for his adopted club, he showed up extremely well through our selection process and we're excited to see what we can achieve with Ross's coaching leadership."

Ross also commented by saying "I’m really proud to be appointed as Head Coach of Clitheroe Rugby Club, a club that has been my rugby family for 10 years now. When I first rocked up to training back in 2008 I did not imagine I would be running the sessions myself!. The Club Committee has set some ambitious but realistic goals & I’m very excited to begin working with the coaching team and the players to achieve them. We have a talented squad and a thriving youth section that is producing some great footballers who will soon be 1st Team stars. I’m really passionate about helping the squad grow and improve their rugby skills and I can’t wait to get started."

Whilst the Summer touch series continues every Tuesday evening at the Castle field (19:15-20:30) through until early July, allowing both players and anyone simply wishing to run around with a rugby ball to improve fitness and have fun (open to all aged 16 and over), the business of pre season training begins in earnest in early July, now with Ross Chamberlain and his team at the coaching helm. Exciting times ahead.
